Alberta invited new candidates under the AAIP on March 14, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) published a new update regarding the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). As of March 14, 2023, there were around 1,490 Alberta Opportunity Stream applications and 450 Expressions of Interest in the Alberta Express Entry pool.    In addition, on March 9, 2023, Alberta held a new invitation round in the Alberta Express Entry Stream and issued 134 Notifications of Interest (NOI) with a minimum score of 301. In 2023, the province invited 434 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in the Alberta Express Entry and issued 1,292 nomination certificates.   AAIP Express Entry Draws 2023  The federal Express Entry pool’s candidates are reviewed regularly by the AAIP. The AAIP draws individuals from a candidate pool and asks them to submit a completed application to the AAIP based on the information regarding their profile that is easily accessible in the portal.  The best alternative path to the federal Express Entry System is through the Alberta-Express Entry stream. Alberta is expecting a massive rise in the AAIP over the next three years, Alberta is currently in dire need of workers to fill over 100,000 job vacancies and bolster its economy. To meet the labor shortage, the Prairie province has asked Ottawa to increase the number of immigrants it can accept through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).    Danielle Smith, Premier of the province, declared that AAIP would experience a significant surge over the subsequent three years. By the end of 2025, there may be an estimated 67 percent increase in nominations. The AAIP has recently increased the immigration numbers to 9,750 nominations for 2023. On January 18, 2023, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) announced new Alberta Express Entry stream selection updates. Alberta issued 6,084 nominations in 2022

  On November 22, 2022, Alberta published the update considering the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) inventory. According to the new update, there were around 970 Alberta Opportunity Stream applications and 290 Expressions of Interest in the Alberta Express Entry pool.    Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) allocated a quota of 6,250 nominations to Alberta in 2021 under the AAIP, and the AAIP issued all 6,250 certificates last year. For 2022, IRCC provided 6,500 nominations for the AAIP. How has the NOC changed affected the new AAIP applicants? After the implementation of the NOC 2021, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) canceled all applications with an unpaid application fee that were not submitted in the portal as of 4 pm on November 15, 2022.    The AAIP requires all new applicants to confirm their application status in the AAIP portal. Alberta Express Entry Stream candidates who want to remain eligible for selection and nomination by the AAIP must update their NOC information in their Express Entry profile. Accelerated Tech Pathway candidates who received an AAIP nomination on or after October 15 will receive an email by November 22, 2022, inviting them to create a new application.   The following AAIP worker stream requirements are effective as of November 16, 2022:   The new AAIP language requirements are based on TEER. As a result, the basic language requirements have actually risen for sixteen occupations and decreased for 3. New NOC codes have been added to the lists of eligible and ineligible professions. With the addition of new NOC codes, wages for religious workers have been updated. The criteria for professional experience in the Rural Renewal Stream are now based on TEER. This new terminology is more accurate because the NOC analyzes not only the degree of skills but also the quality of formal education, experience, and training required for each occupation and the activities linked to it.   The number of TEER categories is the subject of the second significant change. Six TEER categories—increased from the previous four skill levels—make up the new NOC structure. The NOC’s “skill level” B has the widest range of employment needs and has the most occupations of any skill level (approximately one-third of all unit groups). Alberta Released the Updated AAIP Inventory the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is the provincial government program that helps people in Alberta immigrate to Canada. On September 2, 2022, Alberta published the update of the inventory of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). According to the new update, there were around 1,160 Alberta Opportunity Stream applications and 300 Expressions of Interest in the Alberta Express Entry pool. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) provided 6,250 nomination certificates to Alberta in 2021 for nominations under the AAIP, and the provincial government issued all 6,250 certificates last year.  Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) determine the number of nominations the AAIP (Alberta Advantage Immigration Program) can issue each year. IRCC provided 6,500 nomination certificates to Alberta for 2022. This year, Alberta has issued only 3,877 nomination certificates so far. As of August 2, 2022, there are around 1,150 Alberta Opportunity Stream applications and 400 Expressions of Interest in the Alberta Express Entry pool.  In addition, on July 29, 2022, Alberta held a new round in the Alberta Express Entry Stream and issued 120 Notifications of Interest (NOI). The lowest score in this round was 473 points, 67 points more than in the previous draw. In 2022, AAIP already invited 2,320 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in the Alberta Express Entry.
