Saskatchewan invited 23 candidates under the SINP Entrepreneur Program

On September 7, 2023, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) conducted the fifth invitation round in the SINP Entrepreneur Program 2023 and invited 23 entrepreneurs.  This round’s highest Expression of Interest (EOI) score was 140 points. The average score was 115 points. The lowest score was 105.  The province will conduct the following EOI pool selections on November 2, 2023.  According to the new update, candidates cannot change their business plans after applying to the program. They also cannot change their Business Performance Agreement after the SINP approval. In 2023, Saskatchewan invited 5,398 candidates under all streams, including 196 entrepreneurs. What is the SINP Entrepreneur Program? The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) administers the SINP Entrepreneur Program. Experienced business owners or senior business managers who seek to live in Saskatchewan are targeted by this stream. Successful candidates may launch a new business or buy an existing one and then start their day-to-day management duties.  After managing a business successfully for 6 months the entrepreneur may be nominated for permanent residence status. Candidates can submit an expression of interest, after submitting a profile candidates are assigned a score based on the SINP entrepreneur ranking system. The candidates with the most competitive score are invited to submit an application for the Saskatchewan Entrepreneur Program. What is the process for the Entrepreneur category? The Saskatchewan Entrepreneur program uses an Expression of Interest (EOI) system. Candidates who meet the minimum stream requirements can create an account and submit an EOI using the SINP Portal. There are four stages to take: Submission of an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the SINP. Selection of Expressions of Interest and Invitation to Submit an Application The EOI of a candidate is selected based on points. Those with the most points are selected at the end of each draw. The number selected is determined by the program’s requirements. Applications are processed in the order they are received once candidates are asked to apply. Establishment of a business. Nomination.   What are the SINP Application Processing Times for 2023? In the second quarter of 2023, SINP application processing times are given as: In the International Skilled Worker category, the processing time in the Employment Offer stream was three weeks; in the Occupation In-Demand stream, it was 21 weeks; and in the Express Entry stream – 23 weeks.  The processing time for the Tech Talent Pathway was two weeks, while for the Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot, it was four weeks.  In the Saskatchewan Experience category, the processing time for all streams (the Existing Work Permit stream, Health Professionals, International Students, Truck Drivers, and Hospitality Workers streams) was one week.  In the Entrepreneur and Farm category, the processing time for the Entrepreneur Applications was nine weeks, while for the Entrepreneur Nominations, it was one week.  For the Farmer’s stream, it was 18 weeks.  The Job Approval Process, the authorization for an employer to hire a foreign worker through the SINP, took 15 weeks for specified workers and 26 weeks for not specified workers. Canada is committed to helping families reunite through the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP). Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will accept up to 15,000 sponsorship applications this year and will send invitations to apply to 24,200 interested potential sponsors starting on October 10, 2023.  Due to the number of remaining PGP applications from previous years, IRCC will randomly select potential sponsors from the 2020 pool. Those not invited may consider applying for a super visa, which allows visits of up to 5 years at a time and can be extended for up to 2 years. Anyone who submitted an interest to sponsor a form in 2020 but did not get an invitation to apply in 2021 or 2022 is asked to check the email address they gave on the form in 2020. Those requested to apply as part of the 2023 intake will continue to use the Permanent Residence Portal or the Representative Permanent Residence Portal, both of which allow electronic submission of applications. On September 7, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In the new EOI draw 193, Manitoba has issued LAAs to 558 candidates, including 158 Express Entry candidates for this round.  Details of the new EOI Draw 193 Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held invitation round under MPNP streams i.e. Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM) stream, Skilled Workers Overseas stream, and International Education Stream As a candidate, you can work with an immigration specialist. The lowest score in the SWO category was 724 points, the same as in the previous draw.  International Education Stream 52 invitations were issued in addition to the International Education Stream.  In 2023, MPNP invited 11,169 candidates, and 2,972 of them received invitations in the Express Entry. Occupation-specific selection  Profiles declaring current employment in Manitoba in occupations specific as having essential labor needs based on Statistics Canada data were taken into consideration. Canada attracts more internationally educated healthcare professionals

Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Saskatchewan had the highest percentage of internationally educated healthcare professionals (IEHPs) working in their fields in 2021, with 74%, 68%, and 67%, respectively.  Ontario had attracted the most significant number of IEHPs, with 116,310 residing there in 2021. IEHPs were most likely to be nurses, with one-third studying nursing.  The fields of study varied by province, with: Prince Edward Island has the highest percentage of IEHPs studying nursing at 53%,  Newfoundland and Labrador has 30% trained to be physicians, and  Ontario has the highest proportion of IEHPs studying dentistry at 10% or pharmacy at 9%. Internationally educated healthcare professionals (IEHPs) in Canada According to the report’s authors, “There were an estimated 259,695 internationally educated healthcare professionals (IEHPs) aged 18 to 64 residing in Canada in 2021, accounting for 13% of all Canadians in the same age group with post-secondary education in a health field, excluding temporary residents.” These IEHPs in Canada’s healthcare system were most likely nurses. “About one-third of IEHPs in Canada studied nursing,” according to the survey. “Those who trained to be physicians came in second at 15%, followed by those who studied in the fields of pharmacy at 8% and dentistry at 8%.” The significance of immigrants to provincial healthcare systems and their specific fields of study varies significantly across Canada.  The great majority of these healthcare professionals, seven out of ten, are women under the age of 50.  “About half of IEHPs immigrated to Canada between the ages of 25 and 34,” the research said. “Nearly one-third of all IEHPs had arrived in Canada recently (between 2016 and 2021).” Registered nurses with a university degree in nursing, registered psychiatric nurses with a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in psychiatric nursing, and licensed practical nurses with postsecondary degrees in nursing are all accepted in Canada. On September 7, 2023, OINP held the sixth round of invitations in Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream.  In this round, the OINP issued 300 Invitations to Apply for the Francophone candidates. The Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) range of candidates who received the Notification of Interest from the OINP was between 308 and 434 points.  The Express Entry profiles of the candidates were created between September 7, 2022, and September 7, 2023. Canada is ranked 2nd best country in the world overall in the 2023 Best Countries ranking by U.S. News, up from 3rd place in 2022. U.S. News analyzed ten sub-categories and surveyed over 17,000 people from 36 countries before ranking 87 countries. Canada ranked in the top five for four sub-categories: Entrepreneurship, Quality of Life, Social Purpose, and Agility.  Canada also ranked in the top seven for nine attributes, such as being the 2nd best country for starting a career and racial equality. These rankings show that Canada is a leading destination for immigrants seeking to build a better life, with excellent opportunities for education and career development. Subranking results were weighted based on many factors, including each country’s GDP, to obtain the overall ratings. Subrankings that were more linked with wealth were generally weighted more heavily. Switzerland topped the worldwide rankings for the second year in a row. The small European country placed first in the “open for business” sub-ranking and was also in the top ten in four other categories. Meanwhile, Canada has surpassed Germany to become the world’s second-best country, moving up from third position in 2022. Based on these assessments, an overall ranking of 87 countries was calculated. This comprehensive methodology provides a nuanced assessment of a country’s position in the global arena. On September 6, 2023, the Government of British Columbia held new invitation draws under the BC PNP and invited qualified Skills Immigration candidates.  In the general draw, BC invited 160 candidates. The minimum score for candidates invited to this draw was 89-110 points.  In the childcare-targeted draw: The province issued 43 ITAs to candidates under the childcare-targeted draw for early childhood educators (NOC 42202).  In the Healthcare-targeted draw, BC invited 19 candidates who scored 60 points. The City of Greater Sudbury invited 62 candidates under the RNIP round of invitations

On September 1, 2023, the City of Greater Sudbury held the new RNIP round of invitations. In this round, Sudbury considered 62 candidates.  The lowest score of these draws was 220 points, 20 points fewer than in the previous draw.  So far, the city has considered 292 candidates in 2023.  Last year, Sudbury invited a total of 154 applicants. Since the program’s launch, the city has recommended at least 462 individuals under the RNIP. This year, the Canadian passport has moved from eighth to sixth place in the Henley Passport Index rankings. The passport scored 186 points but has climbed higher rankings than other countries’ passports.  The Henley Passport Index compares 199 passports for 227 travel destinations, giving 104 rankings for the top ones. Canada is known for having one of the world’s most powerful passports, offering visa-free access to 185 destinations. The top-ranked passport is from Singapore, with a score of 193.
