The Home Child Care Provider Pilot is one of the caregiver pilots which was launched in 2019. It provides the opportunity to become permanent residents once they have 2 years of eligible work experience in Canada. This pathway is designed for foreign nationals with work experience under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 4411. It lets their family members come to Canada to work or study while they get work experience. Get a free Assessment  The Home Child Care Provider Pilot is an economic pilot program targeting only foreign national caregivers who have a job offer or Canadian work experience in an eligible caregiver occupation and meet minimum education and language proficiency requirements. Qualifying Work Every applicant must have had temporary resident status and work authorization during the period of work experience acquired in Canada. Only authorized work will be calculated towards the work experience requirement.  To qualify for the Home Child Care Provider Pilot applicants must have:  qualifying work experience as a home child care provider (NOC 4411).  provided in-home care to children under the age of 18, whether in their own home or in the employee’s or child’s home.  Remember that Foster parents are not eligible to apply under the Home Child Care Provider Pilot. Applicants would be considered against the pass and fail selection criteria below, based on the information and documents provided in the application. What are the Education requirements for Home Child Care Provider Pilot? All applicants must provide evidence that they have either of the following completed items: foreign educational credential equivalent to the above and an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report issued by an organization designated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Canadian 1-year post-secondary (or higher) educational credential Canadian credentials A post-secondary Canadian educational credential is any  post-secondary  diploma,  certificate, or credential that is issued on the completion of a Canadian program of study or training institution that is recognized by the provincial authorities responsible for registering, accrediting, supervising, and regulating such institutions.  Foreign credentials For all applicants with a foreign educational credential, the ECA report must have been issued on or after the date the ECA organization was designated by IRCC indicate that the credential is equivalent to a completed Canadian 1-year post-secondary (or higher) educational credential be less than 5 years old on the date of application receipt  Every applicant must provide proof of either of the following: at least 24 months of qualifying Canadian work experience, or a job offer and the ability to perform the work Supporting documentation During evaluating an applicant’s ability to perform the work, officers can refer to supporting documentation provided in the application. Immigration Ministers Discussed the Future of Canada’s Immigration System on July 28, 2022, the Forum of Ministers Responsible for Immigration (FMRI) discussed ways to utilize the immigration system more effectively to satisfy economic and regional demands. Ministers discussed strategies for maximizing the efficiency of Canada’s immigration system. The FMRI also emphasized the importance of reducing immigration processing times and agreed that future short-term measures should be in line with longer-term objectives.    Additionally, the Ministers considered methods to meet regional demands and boost immigration to Canada’s smaller and rural or remote regions by mapping economic and settlement resources across the country.   Join our newsletter and get up-to-date immigration news Click here.   The FMRI investigated the necessity of improving federal immigration processing times. The Ministers reflected on the effect of federal special measures introduced during the pandemic. Sudbury Issued New Invitations Under the RNIP on July 28, 2022, the City of Greater Sudbury published the results of the new draws conducted under the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP). In the first draw, Sudbury invited 1 candidate with a score of 330. In the second draw, the city invited 7 applicants who had a score of 245 and above. In total, the community has invited 80 candidates since the start of the RNIP in Sudbury. It’s planned to spread the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities by creating a path to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers who want to come to work and live in one of the participating communities. The Sudbury RNIP ranks applicants in the pool using a points-based system. They (Sudbury) select the highest-ranking candidates from the pool and invite them (candidates) to apply for a community recommendation.
