option for international students

Canada is a highly attractive option for international students

According to a recent study by IDP Education, Canada is a highly attractive option for international students, with over 25% of survey respondents selecting it over other major destination countries like the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Post-study work is a key factor for 63% of students globally, with 72% saying they would apply for a work visa after graduation.  The availability of post-study work visas is a major consideration for 61% of students intending to study in Canada, with even higher percentages for Nigerian, Vietnamese, and Ghanaian students. 63% of the 20,000 students whose completed part in the survey believe working after graduation is the primary determinant of where they decided to pursue their education, and 72% mentioned they would apply for a work visa after they graduated.   The survey showed that 61% of students who intended to study in Canada gave the availability of the post-study work visa significant consideration, with the exception of both the largest markets of India and China. This increased to 63% for students from Nigeria, 75% for students from Vietnam, and 58% for students from Ghana. Christine Wach, IDP Connect’s director of client partnerships for North America, is quoted in the report. Students “see Canada as a welcoming, affordable, and safe place to study with good job opportunities available upon graduation,” the researcher stated, using the survey findings.” In addition, the study found that 53% of students place a high priority on job opportunities after graduation when selecting a location. Other research findings showed that 43% of students were seeking part-time job options while studying, and 61% of students claimed that receiving a high-quality education played a role when making their choice. During the academic year, foreign students studying in Canada are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week without requiring a work permit. If students return to full-time study the following semester, they are allowed to work full-time during the winter and summer holidays. According to the study, 81% of respondents were either already working or intended to work part-time while they were in university. Canadian trucking Industry

Canadian trucking Industry seek faster immigration application processing

Canadian trucking industry commends Ottawa for assisting internationally trained truckers in immigrating to the country. However, they urge Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to prioritize these much-needed workers further. The current labor shortage in the Canadian trucking industry poses a significant threat to Canada’s long-term economic recovery and stability.  Thus, the trucking industry is calling on the Canadian government to expedite the processing of immigration applications and to remove barriers that prevent internationally trained truckers from entering the Canadian workforce. “As IRCC and the government of Canada are well aware, the economy and the skills required to sustain it are changing,” said Jonathan Blackham, director of policy and public affairs for the Canadian Trucking Alliance, in a statement. “The Express Entry program itself is changing as well, with the inclusion of occupations such as trucking that were previously excluded from these types of programs.” Last month, Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said that Canada will launch an additional pathway this summer under the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP) to support employers in hiring skilled refugees and other displaced individuals, including for trucking jobs in Canada. Honorable the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Sean Fraser stated: “Canada is a global leader in connecting skilled refugees with employers struggling to find workers in critical areas, while also providing newcomers with the opportunity to restart their careers and lives in Canada.”  “Our government will continue to develop and scale innovative immigration measures to assist employers in addressing critical labor shortages and to provide refugees with a safe place to live while rebuilding their lives.” Also, Read: CANADA EXPERIENCES AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF INTERNATIONALLY TRAINED NURSES SEEKING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND TO HIRE INTERNATIONALLY TRAINED NURSES IN DUBAI   Why Work in the Canadian Trucking Industry? Across the country, the Canadian trucking industry is facing unprecedented labor shortages. Excellent wages are one of the primary advantages of being a truck driver in Canada. The annual yearly wage of approximately $55,000 is the average for long-haul truckers in Canada. This is a relatively good wage with the potential to make more, depending on your lifestyle and where you live. Many truck drivers are drawn to Canada by the possibility of earning a decent living there.  The variety and autonomy of the Canadian trucking industry are additional benefits. Locally, regionally, nationally, or even across borders, you can deliver. These options provide flexible scheduling. You’ll likely work five days a week for six to eight hours if you drive locally. On the other hand, if you decide to work in long-distance trucking, your timetable can be more flexible. In either scenario, there will be lots of time and opportunities to explore Canada’s unique natural landscapes. internationally trained nurses

Canada experiences an increase in the number of internationally trained nurses seeking employment opportunities

Canada’s provinces are making it easier for internationally trained nurses to work in the country by shortening registration and licensure processes. Atlantic Canada’s Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) has introduced an expedited process for applicants from seven designated countries: the Philippines, India, Nigeria, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.  The new process reduces the processing time for nurses licensed in other parts of Canada from five days to just one and for internationally trained nurses from the designated countries from months to a few weeks. The NSCN received over 8,800 new applications through the new process just one week after its launch on May 1, 2023.   As stated by NSCN CEO Sue Smith, “I am pleased to share what is truly a first-in-the-country approach to licensing international and Canadian nurses in Nova Scotia.”  “The new approach is in line with the new goals of healthcare partners and will reduce licensing time significantly, enhance nurse licensure, and decrease administrative needs. For nurses who want to work in our province, the application process is more secure and more rapid which is good news for all Nova Scotians.” Also Read: PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND TO HIRE INTERNATIONALLY TRAINED NURSES IN DUBAI CANADA IS ACTIVELY RECRUITING INTERNATIONALLY TRAINED NURSES AND OTHER HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS IRCC ANNOUNCED THE AGRI-FOOD PILOT PROGRAM EXTENSION CANADA INTRODUCED NEW INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDY PERMIT APPLICATIONS The COVID-19 pandemic, according to Michelle Thompson, minister of health for the province, made the need for a faster process evident. “The province needs more nurses, and we need to make it simpler for nurses who want to move here and start new lives to quickly start working, she said.” Are you an Internationally Trained Nurse, or Medical Professional? nurses in Dubai

Prince Edward Island to hire internationally trained nurses in Dubai

The Prince Edward Island (PEI) officials traveled nearly 10,000 km in March to recruit nurses in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. PEI’s director of Workforce Planning, Recruitment, and Pharmaceutical Services states that over 30 nurses are expected to immigrate to the province by early 2024.  Healthcare authorities across Canada are facing severe labor shortages. In Prince Edward Island, the current job vacancy rate at Health PEI is approximately 20%. As a result of the nursing shortage on Prince Edward Island, many nurses are reluctant to accept additional shifts. In March, officials from the province’s Office of Immigration and Health P.E.I. interviewed a large number of nurses who had international education in Dubai. Rebecca Gill, P.E.I.’s acting director of health recruitment said; “The process was very impactful and very successful. They are excited to visit Prince Edward Island, contribute to our healthcare system, and change the world. They are making a significant effort, so I believe they will continue to keep going in the future.” Arrival dates will vary due to the continued immigration process, but according to Gill, the majority are anticipated to arrive by the end of this year or in the early months of 2024.   As stated by Tracy Wolbaum, executive director of human resources at the organization, Health P.E.I. is now dealing with a 20% vacancy rate for every category of staff. She stated that a good range for that amount would be five to seven percent. Additionally, there are about the same amount of full-time and part-time staff members, when there should be seven full-timers for every three part-timers. Part-time employees, according to Wolbaum, have contributed “tremendously” to the workload, but they are unable to be depended upon to agree to take on extra shifts in the same way. A confirmation letter is another name for a positive LMIA.    The worker can submit a work permit application after the employer gets the LMIA.   Want to know more details about “ESDC published new processing times for LMIA applications” you can contact one of our immigration specialists at  Gunness & Associates.   Tel: (416) 604-2669  Email: info@test.immigrationmatters.info   Gunness & Associates has helped thousands of people successfully immigrate to Canada with their families.
