IRCC invited potential sponsors under PGP on October 24, 2022, the Government of Canada announced that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited potential sponsors to apply under the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP).    Between October 12 and 20, 2022, IRCC sent 23,100 invitations to apply (ITA) to accept 15,000 PGP sponsorship applications. Canada has the largest immigrant share of the population in over 150 years On October 26, 2022, Statistics Canada published the sixth round of the Census data report, announcing that immigrants made up almost a fourth of the Canadian population, which is the largest share in over 150 years.    Statistics show that as of 2021, 8.3 million people in Canada were landed immigrants or permanent residents, which is about 23% of the population.    This number has increased since the Confederation and is currently the highest among all G7 countries. As the Canadian population ages and fertility levels are below the population replacement level, immigration becomes Canada’s primary driver for population growth.   The highest percentage of immigrants among the G7 In 2021, about a quarter (23%) of the population, or more than 8.3 million people, were or had ever been landed immigrants or permanent residents in Canada, according to the report. This was the highest percentage among the G7 and the biggest percentage since the Confederation, breaking the previous record of 22.3% set in 1921.   Four-fifths of the increase in the labor force from 2016 to 2021 was due to immigration. In the same period, the number of people living in private households in Canada increased by 5.4%, with new or recent immigrants contributing 71.1% of that rise. The survey also predicts that, if current trends hold, immigrants might make up as much as 29.1% of Canada’s population by 2041.   In Canada, more than half of recent immigrants were accepted under the economic category. IRCC issued 4,750 Candidates Under the New Express Entry draw

On October 26, 2022, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada IRCC issued 4,750 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates under Express Entry. In this round of invitations, IRCC continued inviting candidates under all immigration programs.  In round #234, the cut-off score finally dropped below 500 points and was 496 points, 4 points fewer compared to the previous draw.  The tie-breaking rule for this round was May 9, 2022, at 09:04:20 UTC. As of October 24, 2022, there are 234,981 profiles registered in the Express Entry pool, 139 fewer compared to the previous update. In 2022, Canada issued 37,038 ITAs through Express Entry. Ontario issued invitations under the three OINP streams on October 25, 2022, Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) issued 535 invitations to apply (ITAs) for the Master’s Graduate stream. The minimum score of this round was 35 points, 2 points more than it was in the previous draw.  On October 25, 2022, Ontario also invited 106 candidates under the Ph.D. Graduate Stream. The minimum score for this draw was 24, 2 points fewer than the previous program-specific draw.  In addition, the province invited one candidate in the targeted draw for the federal Economic Mobility Pathways Project under the OINP’s Foreign Worker stream. On October 20, 2022, Prince Edward Island conducted a new invitation round in the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). In the tenth round of this year, the province issued 194 invitations to apply to skilled workers in the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams.    PEI also invited 10 candidates to the Business Work Permit Entrepreneurs stream.    The lowest score for business candidates was 72 points, 13 points fewer than in the September draw. This year, PEI invited 1,463 candidates. Canada and Germany are the leading countries for the immigration of international students The top two nations for foreign student immigration are Canada and Germany. Compared to other Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) nations, Canada and Germany have the highest rates of immigration for foreign students.  Nearly all of the 38 countries that make up the OECD have policies in place to retain foreign students after they graduate, according to its International Migration Outlook 2022. With the exception of Germany, none of these other nations have had as much success retaining graduates with international educations as Canada.    The study found that more than 60% of foreign students who arrived in Canada and Germany in 2015 for academic reasons were still living there five years later.   The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)  Governments from 37 democracies with market-based economies work together in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to create guidelines for public policy that will support long-term economic growth. The Tech stream of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) is a fantastic method to attract more people to a vital industry and boost an important area of the economy.   British Columbia’s Tech program is currently the most simple option for tech employees to enter Canada, as compared to other PNPs and the Federal Government’s Global Talent Stream. If this condition is satisfied, the applicant may start the application procedure by creating a profile on BC PNP Online.   The applicant can then complete the application process for the BC Skills Immigration program for which they are qualified once their profile has been registered. Candidates for BC PNP Tech are given several benefits when they go through the provincial nomination process. First, for qualified Tech candidates, weekly application invitation rounds are sent out. Second, applications for the PNP will be processed more quickly for applicants. Ottawa will Grant Citizenship to 300,000 Permanent Residents According to an internal document from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), in the 2022-2023 fiscal year, the Government of Canada plans to grant citizenship to 300,000 permanent residents.   A memo, written by the Operations, Planning, and Performance division of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for high-ranking officials, suggests that IRCC should make 285,000 decisions and 300,000 new citizens by March 31st, 2023.    The number of citizenship applications processed in 2022 is significantly higher than the 2021-2022 fiscal year, and it even beats the 2019-2020 targets from before the pandemic, which was 253,000.   By the end of the year, minors under the age of 18 will be able to submit an online citizenship application, according to the IRCC.   This is a great increase over the fiscal year 2021–2022, and it even outperforms the pre-pandemic goals of 2019–2020, when 253,000 citizenship applications were granted.   The Covid-19 epidemic started to spread in March 2020, which made it difficult for IRCC to process the majority of applications.
